Managing Your Store Status
Store Status is your on/off switch for Nostra's Edge Delivery Engine — and your audit trail. See at a glance whether Nostra is running on your store, change its status when you need to, and see exactly who turned it on or off, when, and why.
Overview
You'll find Store Status in the Settings section of the portal at app.nostra.ai. It does two things:
- Update Edge Delivery Status — enable or disable Nostra's Edge Delivery Engine for your store, with a note explaining why.
- Status History — a running log of every status change: who made it, when, what the status became, and the reason given.
Updating Your Status
Changing your store's status takes three steps:
Choose a status
Use the Status dropdown to set your store's Edge Delivery Engine to Enabled or Disabled.
Add details
Describe why you're changing the status — for example, "Updating session content." This note appears in your status history for your whole team to see.
Submit
Your change takes effect and is logged in the Status History with your name and timestamp.
If you're disabling the engine because something looks wrong, also submit a support case at [email protected] so our engineers can investigate. Many issues can be resolved with a configuration update rather than turning Nostra off.
The Three Statuses
Your store's Edge Delivery Engine is always in one of three states. You can switch between Enabled and Disabled; Testing is reserved for Nostra's team.
Nostra is live. Your pages are served from the edge, your cache clears automatically, and your visitors get the full speed benefit.
Set by Nostra only — this isn't a status you can select. Our engineers use it while QA-ing configuration and optimization updates on your store before re-enabling the engine.
The engine is off. Your site is served without Nostra's edge acceleration, and cache-clearing features are unavailable until it's re-enabled.
Your store loses its edge acceleration, and the portal's cache-clearing features are paused — you'll see an alert reminding you the Edge Delivery Engine is set to "off." If you're unsure whether to disable, contact support first.
Status History
The Status History table is your accountability layer: every time anyone turns Nostra on or off — a teammate or a Nostra engineer — it's recorded here. No more guessing why the engine was disabled last Tuesday.
Each entry captures four things:
| Column | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| User | The email address of the person who made the change — including Nostra team members working on your store. |
| Date/Time | When the change was made, shown in your local time zone. |
| Status | The state the engine was changed to: Enabled, Testing, or Disabled. |
| Reason | The details entered when the change was submitted — for example, "Optimizations complete." |
You'll sometimes see @nostra.ai users in your history. That's our engineers at work: a typical sequence is Disabled ("Configuration Update Required") → Testing ("Optimization updates") → Enabled ("Optimizations complete"). The history keeps all of it transparent to your team.
Common Questions
Who turned Nostra off — and why?
Check Status History. The User column shows exactly who made the change, and the Reason column shows the explanation they entered at the time.
Why do I see Nostra team members in my history?
Our engineers may adjust your store's status while applying configuration or optimization updates — for example, moving to Testing while they QA changes before re-enabling. Every one of those changes is logged just like your team's.
Can I set my store to Testing?
No — Testing is reserved for Nostra's team. If you see it in your history, it means our engineers were QA-ing updates on your store. Your options in the Status dropdown are Enabled and Disabled.
What happens to my site when the engine is Disabled?
Your site keeps running normally — it's just served without Nostra's edge acceleration, so visitors don't get the speed benefit. Cache-clearing features are also unavailable until the engine is re-enabled.
Do I have to enter a reason when changing the status?
Always add one. The reason becomes part of your permanent status history, and it's what lets your teammates (and future you) understand why a change happened.
Should I disable Nostra if something looks off on my site?
Reach out first. An outdated cache or a configuration tweak is often the real fix — see our cache management guide, and submit a case at [email protected]. Disabling the engine trades away your speed gains, so treat it as a last resort.

If something on your site looks off, our team can usually fix it with a cache clearing or configuration update — no downtime on your speed gains required.
